How to Read a Day on the Vedic Calendar

Select any date on the Vedic calendar to open the day detail panel. Here is what each field tells you.

Tithi

The lunar day (Prathama through Purnima/Amavasya). Rituals such as Ekadashi fasting depend on which tithi is active at sunrise.

Nakshatra

The Moon’s constellation segment for the day. Birth nakshatra traditions and some muhurta rules reference this value.

Yoga and Karana

Secondary Panchanga limbs. Yogas colour the day’s overall tone in muhurta texts; karanas subdivide the tithi.

Timings

Start and end times show when the limb changes—critical near borders. If an event is close to sunrise, confirm with full panchanga.
